    Imagine learning at home with your parents as your teachers where everyday activities are lessons for you to learn from. That is a schooling method known as homeschooling where children learn at home and their parents or other relatives teach them. In homeschooling, your classmates are your siblings of different ages. This is different from public schools where all of the kids in a class are the same age. In a home school, you can learn at your own pace and learn from real life experiences. According to the article, What Is Homeschooling? A Guide for Parents and Students, "For the majority of parents who homeschool, the only prerequisite is the desire to do so, along with a dedication to the educational process." Homeschooling is a very popular method of learning in which you learn about the world around you as part of a family. 

    In my family, my mother taught me and my siblings through homeschooling. We would wake up every morning, get ready and then our mother would have us read our school books and do our math. In homeschooling, your parents get to decide the school schedule and what you will be learning about that day. Homeschooling is something that parents have complete control over they decide the curriculum and the lessons. In my family, my mother would have school throughout the summer. We would take a break in the winter when the weather is nice. In homeschooling, there are homeschooling groups where homeschooled children learn and socialize together. In our homeschool. we learned through different activities such as making furniture, growing a garden, fixing cars and our house. I like homeschooling because it allowed me to explore the world around me in the comfort of my family. 

    There are many reasons that a person might decide to homeschool their children. The article Top 5 Reasons Why Parents Homeschool Their Kids says that some of the reasons why parents homeschool their children is because they are unhappy with the school environment, teaching a disabled or gifted child, or wanting a higher quality of education for their children. My family started homeschooling to meet the needs of my older siblings that were struggling in the public school system. My family fell in love with the lifestyle of homeschooling and the freedom to learn the things important to them as well as the time to be together without the stress of normal school.  Homeschooling can provide the solution to those problems if the parents are willing to put the work into teaching. Homeschooling is a good way to teach children about the world and prepare them for life.
